First off, I'm not fully sure if this goes beyond the rules here, but if it does, feel free to lock it.

Anyways..

Does anyone here have a reg to allofmp3.com? How is the service? From what I understand, its a pay service, like 1 cent per MB. Is it worth it?

Once again, since this is technically a pay service, I don't think this is illegit. However, if the mods feel otherwise, you can lock it.

It's defininately in the grey area, with regard to Copyright Law. The buisness model is outstanding, however. Lossless encoded music for less than a CD? That's what I'm talking about! Electronic music distribution is cheaper than B&M CD distribution. Why don't the prices reflect this?
 
It is based in Russia, where the laws are different.

They also sell CDs there for $1-2 that contain 4+ albums and are legal.
 
not all the songs are offered uncompressed... some are only available in MP3/MP4/OGG/WMA meh

anyway is this site legal? it seems kinda too good to be true :eek:
 
I've used it occasionally when I really wanted a song late at night or something. It is nice just being able to download it from a website instead of having to use some proprietary client like some services. Not sure of the legality of it in the US though.
 
From the forum standpoint, the area of legality is just too gray to allow any thread to endorse the site. Russia has it's own set of laws which may be legal there, but as soon as it affects the United States, et al where the RIAA can and will bring lawsuit against such downloads, the law is pretty much against the site. At any rate, I'm sure Kyle doesn't want to be the first litigant to test the legality. I have always gone with the "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" theory and we here at the [H] like to err on the side of caution. :)
