All Wireless Home Theater System?

I must be behind the home theater technology curve here or something because I have never heard of this Neosonik wireless home theater system until today. Look impressive if it works as advertised.

Plug in any Digital or Analog source component such as HDTV, HD-DVD, CD, or VCR, and the Controller wirelessly broadcasts perfectly synchronized, uncompressed digital Audio and Video to all Loudspeakers and TV set.

Damn that is interesting. I hate wires with a passion. Its a jungle under my desk and bed, with my surrond sound/computer wires. Need a machute to get thru it all

What about interference though? That will probably be a big problem in some households.

Each "wireless" speaker will still need to be plugged into a power socket. That is a lot of plugs on a 7.1 setup. Now, someone needs to figures out a way to power the speakers wirelessly.

Where do you see that at? It doesnt look that attractive anymore if that is true(not doubting, just cant find it on there page). Ill rather run speaker wire than power cords.

I know some of us can afford a package like this, but this setup definitely isn't for the average consumer so I don't see it becoming the everyday norm in most people's homes anytime soon. I've seen wireless speaker setups before but I can't remember the brand right off the top of my head.

I'll try to remember what the brand/model was and post back here on the wireless speakers I've seen before. I'm not crazy about the design of those speakers as well, but to each his own. Personally, if you can afford to spend this kind of money on home theater, I'd deal with the wires and buy a lot nicer setup imo.



Final pricing will be announced at the 2007 CES, January 8 to 11. Prices are projected to range from $6k to $15k for a complete system (Controller and 5.1 Digital Wireless Loudspeaker package).

It doesn't but clearly the speakers must be powered by something. If they're not connected to an amplifier, they must have an amp within the speaker (as well as a wireless receiver to get the audio signal from the preamp).

I just read the Cnet article and while it's not expressly stated in the, the fact that the speakers have amplifiers built into them (that is stated) means they must be powered.

I don't think this is a major negative.....yes, you need a plug, but putting in a socket (when/if necessary) is much better than running 7 sets of speaker wire back to a receiver or seperate amps.

Still, I don't see myself spending 10 grand on an audio system anytime soon, much less one that likely has speakers that aren't as good as some upper mid-fi speakers like Polk's LS line. But I hope I'm wrong. I think the idea is a great one and it'd generally be good for people that want a nice hometheater, but don't have a theater room

Holy bajesus did you see the price tag on that thing? Projected cost is between 6k-15k. I mean Kyle could obviously afford one but for the rest of us

I like the idea of wireless surround speakers. You've probably already got outlets near your couch or the back wall. I could live with that... instead of running a pair of 30 foot wires to the back of the room.

I don't see why all the speakers would need to be wireless, though. The front speakers could still be connected by normal wires.
