Hey guys...gotta question.
I've ordered a few parts from newegg.

ASUS SK8Npro
AMD opteron 140
512mb Corsair pc3200

Right now just searching for a graphics card that will let me have a dual monitor setup and able to watch TV and control it. Does an ATI all in wonder let me do all that? I guess you might say i'm trying to build an "ALL in wonder system" :D (Play games, do graphic design work, encode music, vege out and watch tv. )

And whats the deal with those nVidia Quadro FXs? Can anyone give me the run down on those? Are they strictly for workstations? Do they support any enhanced features like TV input/output and dual screen setups? Waste of money for what I want to do?

you might be better off getting a separate TV tuner card. That way you could hang on to it when you upgrade the rest of your system.

Ya, the separate tuner may be a good idea. The only AIW card capable of doing dual moniters on its own is the AIW 9600 pro. Its a good card but would bottleneck that big beautiful opteron while gaming. So either do a AIW 9800 pro and a PCI video card for dual moniters, or get a regular video card and a separate TV tuner. Either setup would suit you pretty good.

I'd recommend a TV Tuner card and a 9800pro, probably be your best bet.

The thing is...I need to be able to use two monitors for the 3D modeling but also use one as a "TV". What should I go with? Will the AIW 9800 be enough? Or am I confusing the AIW with a TV tuner? I figure it had it built in, lol. Should I get one of them nifty TV/Monitor setups...I believe they're called LCDs :D

The AIW does have a TV tuner built in, but because of the extra space which that tuner takes up the AIW cards only support a single moniter (except for the recently released AIW 9600 pro) so if you want an AIW 9800pro you need a second video card to do dual moniters.

If you buy a separate TV tuner card and a regular 9800 pro you can run dual moniters and use one as a TV when you see fit.

As for good TV tuner cards I've heard Leadtek and Hauppauge make good ones though I've never used either myself.

Hope this makes sense.
