I just purchased the parts and will be putting together a system over the weekend. Unfortunately I do not have a ups available to protect my investment. The system consists of
CPU I7 930
Mobo ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58
GPU XFX 5870 an additional 5870 for xfire will be added in the next couple of months
PSU Corsair 850W TX
HDD Samsung f3 1tb hd
SSD 80gb intel
Monitor is a dell 23inch HD

Now I would like to purchase a ups but I am not sure what brands or even what model would be adequate enough to supply this puppy the juice it needs in case of a power outage. I would like to purchase an all-in-one type of deal (ex surge protector, brown out protector (if one exists lol) and conventional ups) it needs to have enough power to keep the system on and give me enough time to obviously save and shut the machine off.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! :D

If I was buying the best, it would be an APC Smart-UPS RT, true sinewave output and online power.

I'd recommend getting 1500VA, but you should be fine with, and I wouldn't go lower than the 1000VA model.

BTW, high end models (1400 Smart UPS XL ...) routinely are for sale at eBay for $150 to $200 US used.
