All in one codec pack?

Weird, I've been using K-Lite for years and never ever had a problem with it. Most of the time I don't even install a DVD player (like PowerDVD), just open the disc with Media Player Classic. (I do now, since i'm not sure if it will play BD/HD-DVD)

Yep, and since it's pertinent to codecs, I wouldn't consider it that far off-topic, but but but...

The lack of 64 bit codecs for most popular formats (at least presently) will change over time and we'll see a lot more of them popping up soon enough. But for the time being, you are correct that using 32 bit codecs for 32 bit media players is the right combination.

I 100th it in saying to stay away from codec packs. K-Lite creates lots of issues especially when trying to stream xvid to your Xbox 360. I have also experienced sync issues on friend's machines. As many have mentioned already, CCCP is good but some elements are outdated. I prefer to do a custom install of each app.

Latest MPC

ffdshow tryouts (Most stable and tested, however I personally use the latest XXL builds)
VSFilter (For subtitles)
Haali Media Splitter (If you view MKV's)
QuickTime Alternative
Real Alternative (If you view real media)

This is what I go by and have no issues, and I go thru TONS of media. Doom9 forums is also a great resource. You will notice lots of people have different preferences... CCCP, similar setup to mine, VLC Player etc. To each his own I guess just stay away from other codec packs!
