ok the problem isnt with alienware specificly but it does have to do with my alienware. i have a bigwater 745 (1*120mm radi. and 1*240mm radi) and it used to all fit well in my case, but i just bought a new soundcard and now the 240mm doesnot fit. i just wanted to know what other people have done with big radiators(in any brand case) or if you have a place in or on or around my case for this monster.

ps. i bought an alienware because i couldnt build a system, i can now.

and for those who will just post saying ggrrr i hate alienware, dude, i hate them too ok, i took my computer for a diagnostics and that voids the warranty. also letting your friends open the case voids the warranty.

if you have any suggestions on this 240mm please let me know!

A few thoughts: If the case is wide enough, you may want to try cutting a hole in the top and mounting it up there. You could put the fan on the bottom so it blows air up through the case and out the top. However, I think 240mm is too large to fit there.

How are your carpentry skills? I always though it would be cool to take some high quality wood like walnut, oak, or maybe even something more exotic and build an external enclosure for the radiator. I would still go with something on 2 inch legs or so. Then mount the fan beneath and have it blow air out the top. You could either leave the top uncovered to show the radiator in all of it’s cooling glory, or you could put a piece of wood over the top and cut ventilation strips. My fav though would be to cover the top with black mesh or something that would conceal the radiator, let air through and make it look sort of like a speaker laid on its back.

I even have a plan to cover the hoses!! If you have ever been to a nice hookah bar or headshop, you have no doubt seen those ornate cloth hose covers.

If you get a color that will complement your choice of wood, you could have something really classy lookin.

Good luck!

i think that alienware's look a little too modern for fine brazilian nut wood. the hookah thing is bitchin' though. i might sleeve my power cables with those. actually if i could use the hookah as a resevoir, holy crap! im totally gonna price check that!
