The D-tek white water is aluminum topped, and as I understand it, this will cause corrosion. Does this make the block a bad choice for me? I currently run a socket 478 system, but plan on moving to socket 939 eventually. That's why I want to go with a universal block like the WW or the Storm, but the storm is a bit pricy for me and the WW looks like it will perform within 1-2C of the Storm. I will probably be ordering a D5 from dangerden so I can get the MCT-5 solution. Will there be any long term effects of using the Aluminum topped WW with MCT-5 or is there some other solution I should be looking at?\

Thanks in advance.

The Dtek should be fine. I have one unit in my box now. As long as you use deionized water for the coolant mixture you shouldn't run into problems with galvanic corrosion.

Not to mention the aluminum is annodized. Good idea to always run anti-corrosion/bacteria additive. You don't want any green slimy crap growing in your loop. I had a friend who ran straight tap water, even after I told him not to. 6-8 Months later he couldn't figure out why his pump took a dump. We went to drain the loop to take the pump out, and some nice brown sludge kinda oozed out. Looked and smelled like $hit!!
With as much crud that was in there, I wouldn't be surpised if he just filled up a jug straight out of Lake Mead. :D
