Has anyone seen or heard of these things?

I stumbled across it the other day and figure it would be a good / cheap alternative to a car PC. My first worry would be with the X-Vid codec. Everyone knows that it dies in the ass if it's not up to date. I wonder if the firmware is upgradeable to allow for this.
