AIW 9600XT why the higher core clock?

I am curious since I noticed the core is clocked higher than the normal 9600XT.

I have been unable to pull up anything like benches on it and I am wondering what possible OCs can be attained and why they pumped up the speed.

It is still the same process/sample as the 9600XT right?

It is a very attractive middle of the road "do it all" card.
