Airflow question for the Qpack (

Hey guys, I was looking at ways to better cool my Qpack case, and I'm thinking about turning the 120mm fan in back around so it pulls (hopefully cold) air into the system so the airflow goes from the back to the front.

Here is a reference photo:

Now the default scenario, with the rear fan blowing air out of the system:

My thinking is because of the large distance between the vents and the HSF, not a lot of that cold air will reach the heatsink, instead getting caught in the crevices of other parts of the mobo.

This is what I'm thinking about having happen:

Now, with this configuration the cool air intake (in this case the fan instead of the vent) is right on top of the HSF. This means that nearly all of the cool air coming in the case will contact the HSF and the warm air coming up off it. This air will then be pushed out the vents. In essence, the vents and 120mm fan switch roles.

Are my diagrams accurate in how the airflow goes in these scenarios? If you guys have any input on which way I should do it, please reply. Here is a little tablet to show your ideas:

IMO it looks like the fan blowing out is the best idea. The idea you have in place just looks wrong. If you are that concerned then why not try and mount an 80/92/120mm fan on the side of the case? After all its plexi/lexan and you should be able to drill through it with ease.
 
BTW, what motherboard and heatsink do you have in there? Also, any reason you cant hit 2.2Ghz on that barton?
 
I tried that, the 120 was real loud drawing air thru the back of the case+plus
the temp on my gpu went up 10c.

found the best cooling setup was to have the 120 exhaust, flip the fan on the hs to blow
up instead of down and to remove the io shield.

HS=silentboost, mobo=MSI K7N2GM-V nforce 2.

My mobo is voltage locked, and 2 ghz is highest this thing will run stable on stock voltage. I'm thinking about doing the pinmod to get the voltage higher.
