Yesterday myself and and a fellow photographer from FM Forums were down at Langley Air Force Base for the annual Air Power Over Hampton Roads airshow. Lots of cool stuff, made even better by media passes that let us on the media platform.

Anyway, here are some shots of mine I really liked. If you want to see more of a certian airplane, just ask, I probably have more! :)

300D, 70-210 f4 lens, mostly at f8 or f9.

Comments and Crits welcome!

The second airplane is a T-6.

Those are great pics. I'm looking for a camera like that because I'm also an airshow enthuiast. I'll check it out. Awsome pics.

Wow, that's the first time I have seen a 22 at an airshow. Nice.

Sweet shots. Seems like a really nice lens. Are these motion stop captures or pan shots?

motion stop shots... between 1/1000 and 1/3200.

Yeah, it is the first time an F/A-22 has been at an airshow, and it's only there because Langley is getting the first squadron of them. (they already have 4 of them)

Great shots! I love that Corsair, what an awesome plane that was. The phantom still looks like it can kick some serious ass, much more manly than the Hornet :D

Ditto, great shot! That's definitely one of my favorite planes from that era. Flibster posted a shot of one, in case you missed that. I also like #12; it's cool to see a flying timeline like that. Did you know the F-4 first flew in 1958?

As a general comment, the pictures look rather dull, color-wise. It seems like that's often a problem with air show photos like this. Did you try using a polarizer? I might help, though it might also be hard to use effectively, I imagine.

I did miss that, thanks for pointing it out. Something about that plane, probably watching Black Sheep Squadron when I was a lad... :D

The problem is that it was really hazy out there. (didn't have a polarizer, although that would have helped) I did alot of work in PS with contrast/color balence so that they looked like that.
