OK guys, I need a little help. I didn't have all these nice features on my old board.

In general, will I get higher OCs with SPD funtions enabled or disabled?

ie: DRAM: 1:1, 4:5 or SPD? What does all that mean?

I take it since I have PC3200 mem, I should stay with 4:5?

What line should I NOT cross with CPU volts and this P4/533?

My Stuff:
P4 2.53/533
PC3200 Memory

Wow and yer a gawd? Sorry just surprised. Anyway, it really depends dont volt that proc over 1.8 Id say, dont use SPD. SPD is just a name ffor default memory latencies. Depending on the speed rating of your memory you want to use the fastest available
2226 being the best for BH-5 chips, (you can read this off the ram chips with the heatspreader off)

Then again depending on what memory you have (list it for referece) bump the volts up to 3.2 and you can have very fast memory. DO NOT use 3.2 if your ram is not BRAND NAME ram, you will fry it. Just do a search for your memory and how many volts people put into it.

THe ratio is just used for how high you want your FSB to go. If you know that your memory cannot do the same speed, take a step down to 5:4 and so forth.

personally I dont think your processor can OC that high anyway, but you can certainly try.

Well, how do you know that the new features are and do without owning a board that has them? I am a God because I've been around since HardOCP openned.

Anyway, last night all the prcessor would do was 3 GHZ. Not a bad OC for this guy. If I am @ 3GHz, do I need 5:4 or can I go with 1:1?

Also, last night I realized that the Temp was up to 120F on the chip. On my old board, 100F used to be the max it went up too. I DID scrape off the old, stock, paste and put about a BB size amount of Arctic Silver paste right in the middle, then put the heatsink down onto it. Do you think I got it too thick? I might try this again and see what I get. Any suggestions?

Geil and Corsair XMS PC3200 should be able to take 3.1 Volts, right?

yes the ram should take it, but I dont want you to fry it, just be safe

what is yer FSB speed? too tired to due the math:eek:
if its waaay over 220 or so, use 5:4. I had that mobo before and I liked it. Just take your time and learn the ropes. Oh and get a new CPU cooler to get more OC. The zalman 7000alcu is a damn fine cooler.

Sorry bout that last comment, and welcome to the world of OCing :)

you could just use 1:1 cause no matter what you do, you probobly will not get the memory up to spec. you have a 533(133)fsb cpu, the pc3200 ram you got is for 800(200)fsb cpu's. so you dont have to worry about running your memory too fast cause unless you can get a 3.8+ghz overclock out of that cpu, the memory will hold just fine
