my x800xl is running at 65 celsius idle, wtf, any suggestions besides slapping on a third party cooler (and at 90 full load)
 
yes...what he said.

and if that doesn't work, chances are the stock thermal paste dried up and is acting as more of an insulator than a heat conductor. remove heatsink, clean real good (lap if it needs it), apply AS (5, ceramique, or whatever you have handy), re-install heatsink.
