the other day i bought a "y adapter" to connect my sound card to my stereo reciever....it's awesome, however it seems like there is the slightest of lag i can only tell this because i play "dance with intensity" and the music seems off from the steps.........could this be due to the resistance in the cable...(it's not the best in the world..it's an anolog signal)

I will give you $100 if the splitter does indeed cause a noticeable lag. If you need some convincing then just take the splitter out. If you want to be scientific about it then do a blind test. Do a few trials and have someone else control when the splitter is used and when it isn't used, and don't let him tell you which way it is. I guarantee the splitter is not causing lag.
the splitter could cause lag if it were about 3000 feet long haha. do you know how many conducters are in the wire? or what material its made out of?. most likely you got one from radioshack. buy some good cables and youll notice the improvement (ie. make your own)
