agp setting???

im currently running a ati radeon 9500 pro 128mb 8x powered by the p4c800-e delx. mobo and i cant get my agp setting at 8x, when i install the driver it sets it to 0, i try to set it to 8x restart comp and its still at zero..can sum1 tell me whats going on, and yes ive had this card at 8x before, i reformatted now it wount get back up to 8
