I have an older 845 based board, Gigabyte 8IRXP it has a AGP x4 slot [1.5v only]. I remember a while ago I tried to install a 9600AIW and it wouldn't even post up due to the fact the agp section of the board was different than the Ti4200 I had at the time. On the AGP section there was a seperate split on the board. I installed a 9800 however with no problem. Both the 9800 and Ti didn't have the split.
What does this extra split signify? AGP Revision? Different Voltage?
I just ask because I'll probably end up upgrading my system shortly, but for the time being the old 1.6@2.2 is chugging a long nicely so video will come before Mobo/CPU/Ram.
Thanks in advance for anybody who can answer my stupid question
