I am build my first PC, and I can't decide whether to go with AGP or PCI Express. It would help me a lot of someone could take the time out and technical details between the two. I want a card that is great for gaming and video editing. Thanks

For a realy in depth explanation I would suggest you look up in the archieves a various hardware websites (such as this one) and look for any coverage on the launch of the Intel 915 and 925 chipsets. An easy google with Intel 915 or 925 will get you a lot of other reviews on this matter.

But I really suggest that you read up on that on your own b/c you will learn more (from knewlegdeable reporters/reviewers) and get a really good answer to your guestion along with answering other guestions (I dont know if you realize but if you go pci-e right now you have to buy a new mobo, along with a possibly hard drive and ram depending on which chipset and what kind of hdd interface you have). But yea if you didnt realize that I would really have to suggest you read that and then post a guestion in regards to this topic on a much more narrower scope

PCIX is is the same as 8x AGP now, but with like 1 more FPS..
HOWEVER, later on software will support pcix and in matter of fact you will see a great difference.

That's most unlikely in the near future for most games. AGP 2x is actually more than adequate for numerous more recent games and AGP 4x is overkill.

depends on your graphics card upgrade timings, do you upgrade yearly, or usually wait for 2 to 3 years?

If its yearly don't worry about pci e cause AGP will still be around for another 2 years. If ya keep your graphics cards for 2 to 3 years, yeah it might be a good time to get pci -e.
