as of right now which kind of interface is faster/more reliable just the overall better buy, AGP 4X/8X or PCI Express x16?

PCI-e is the way to go. You may not even be able to get any new cards for AGP if 7800 sets the trend.

PCI-Express hands down is the way to go these days. AGP is slowly getting phased out. If you are getting a new rig or motherboard even, get it with PCI-Express.

right now there is little if any difference in performance between the AGP and pci-express versions of the same card, but the pci-express version tends to be slightly cheaper. However, that is offset by the need for a pci-express mobo, of course.

If you're starting a new build, go pci-express.

You want a Socket 939 64bit Mobo... That has PCI-E SLi :p

Thats what you want to stay up with the lastest....ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe should do the trick ;)

Go for the Asus A8N-SLi Premium. That is the board to have in my opinion.

My question is why go PCI-e when nothing requires anything close to the power that PCI-e gives.. All you doing there is wasting your money.

well if you want a card faster then a 6800 you need it

plus there's SLI if you want it. AGP can't use sli even if you tried to make a mobo for it.

well as of now, Im not gonna get into SLI, Im gonna wait a little longer till I upgrade to that, I dont think that right now its worth paying extra for SLI when you can get the almost same performance with a singe VGA card
