Well I installed the Omega drivers yesterday and in the driver install setup it has an option to to turn it on or off. It says off will helo your overclocks and on to be used with Athlon 64 systems. Well I want good overclocks. but will having it on hurt that because I have a Athlon 64 system?

Setup:

Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester @2.5 1.45v
Asus A8V Deluxe
1GB OCZ PC3700 gold rev.2
winxp pro

Yea I remember that message when installing the Omega's. Don't worry about that message. Fast Writes is theoretically supposed to help performance, marginally at best if you ask me. You can change the settings in your Bios. Try it both ways and see what works best for you. Run some benchmarks to see where your system stacks up to others with similar setups. Alot of people run into problems, artifacts for instance with it on. Its totally up to you.

Most people end up having some sort of problems with fastwrites on. Like the above post said, just test it on and off and see which one works better for you.

I've been reading more and more about people having issues with fast writes. I'll have to play with it and see how it affects things.

I remember that there were many problems with the 9600XT and CoD with FW turned on. The best thing to do is to test with FW both on and off and see which works better for you. ;)

I have always ran with fastwrites off and never had a problem. Never tried with it on so I'm not sure how it will turn out. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it for me.

BTW, I'm running the latest Omega drivers along with everything in my system (in sig) and everything is running superb. I also got my best score on AquaMark with the latest drivers too.
