guys i heard that if you increase your AGP aperture size this could result in incerased performance from ur graphics card... is this true???

if so on what setting should i put my aperture size on.... my current aperture size is on 64 MB

i have a 6800 GT by XFX with 256 MB Ram

i also have 1024MB of system Ram at PC333 DDR 400 Unbranded

It is recommended that you keep the AGP aperture around 64MB to 128MB in size, even if your graphics card has a lot of onboard memory. This allows flexibility in the event that you actually need extra memory for texture storage. It will also keep the GART (Graphics Address Relocation Table) within a reasonable size.

I don't mean to sound like an assclown but this issue has seen 1,000,000+ threads and the search function has been back up on the [H] for some time now.

At first, I'd like to appologize to everyone for my poor english language. I'm from Serbia & Montenegro, so I'll try to be as good as I can.

About the topic:
Well, I'm not very sure, about that you heard. It's not that simple - depends of your MB, CPU etc. My comp, for example, shows no extra performance, whatever I set for Aperture size. I'ts almost equal when I set it to 32 or 128.

Also, when you have graphic card and RAM as you have, aperture size isn't really usable at all.

Regards
