Will I notice a difference after I buy my NF2Ultra vs. My AMD 760 4X chipset! And can I overclock my 2400+ to 2.2 Ghz on stock cooling with PC2100 RAM. (147 Mhz * 15 Multi)Am I crazy or what! :p

With todays games and cards, you will notice almost no difference. The only time you'll notice a difference is when you up the AA/AF where high bandwidth come into play. Other than that you wont notice much.

That's actually not a very fair assessment. I think that overall he'll notice a performance increase but not because of the 4/8 AGP difference. Mostly because of the chipset and board. Especially if he goes dual channel on that NF2 setup.

You wont notice that much of a difference between 4x/8x, but depending on the pipelines on the card, the mhz of the card, thats where you'll notice a big difference.

take the 9500pro and the 9600pro for example. The 9600pro has higher mhz for mem/core, but the 9500pro has 8 pipelines vs the 4 on the 9600pro..pipelines arent the agp rate, but its an example. The 9500pro will eat the 9600pro alive.

You can take the Ti4200 which is 4x and take the ti4800 8x which is basically a 4600 and you wont notice a big difference at all, except when you bump the graphic quality up.

If you take a 9800pro and move it to 4x agp, regardless that its 4x, it'll still smoke every 4x agp card out there because its higher mhz and better chipset.

And the same can be said for 8x agp vs 16x pcix

My 9800pro which is 8x, will probably smoke the x300 even though its on 16x pcix

I know all about pipelines and arcitecture. I was just wondering about bandwidth. I have a 9600pro with a 2400+! Can I also clock the athlon to 2.2 ghz on stock cooling with PC2100 ram. I had 900 bucks to spend, but I was just reamed yesterday at the mechanic's. Go figure. Now I'm stuck with my current setup. I do have a Thermaltake heatpipeon my radeon. Also does the nforce 2 ultra have an AGP/PCI lock. I just want to up my ram from 133 to 147 so I can hit 2.2. That should hold me off for another 6 months so I can get my baby! A64 3200+ at 2.6 with 2 GT's ! :p . If anyone can help me out with some info I would really appreciate it. And you guys always reply super fast. Thanks Alot! :)
