Ageia APEX

Having the best in performance system is meaningless if it is difficult for developers to tap, something GPGPU is currently suffering from judging developer complaints. APEX sounds like it will help developers better squeeze performance for physics simulation and avoid GPU bottlenecks while overall making it easier to do.

This is a good move by Ageia; getting the PPU to work correctly in games has been a ongoing issue, reducing implementation difficulties increases the appeal of using their physics API.

This is good news for everyone; even those backing multi core processors, it means better physics in future Unreal Engine 3 games due to better resource utilisation and management.
