Afterburner not saving settings?

Hi all,

My names Andy, i'm new to these forums and to the world of overclocking! I have a little problem at the moment with my overclock settings on my MSI 6970 Lightning.

Everytime I input these into afterburner and apply them and click the apply at start up they work and ET6 and other programs show them as working, but when I shut down and turn it on later, now this is the weird part!

Afterburner still shows the overclock settings but all the other monitor programs like ET6 and CCC have shown them all at default again =/

Never ever did this before!!

Any ideas?

AMD has removed some interfaces from their drivers After 12.2 that AB relies on.

You will have to re-apply the setting everytime you reboot.

it will also reset the powertune limit which arent saved in the profile.

or drop the following 2 files in your AB directory should fix it:

Yeah I noticed things not sticking in Tera. Thought it was just the game but this is good to know. I'm not too concerned with this though.
 
Cheers Mac! I'm wondering if this is something that AMD will fix in the next line up of drivers, i'm sure they're going to be getting enough complaints about it.

I also wonder if they've done it to stop people from mincing their GPUs? It's annoying as hell because I bought the MSI 6970 Lightning for it's really nice cooler and OC capabilities. Little buggers!!!
 
Ok i've added those drivers and now something very strange is happening!

Once again turn the computer off and reboot, the GPU settings are all back to default but now the minute I load up afterburner the settings revert back to the OC ones... Am I going to have to repeat this process everytime now on startup?
 
Not a good idea to leave afterburner on while gaming....
Best way is to save oc settings and close afterburner...
But yet again, if it doesnt remember them after reboot....
 
this is catagorically false and we are all now dumber for having read that.

AB is needed for fan profiles, frame limiter, etc...

if you start ab with the /xcl switch once, it will universally extend the oc range. Then set the OC in CCC.

Now it will stick and it wont matter that AB doesnt apply the overclocks.
 
I use Asus' GPU tweak for my MSI card. Works fine and saves the settings.

You cant adjust voltages in CCC........
 
Exactly stayfrosty, I need a bit of a voltage bump on one of three cards to run 1100/1500...

this hardly bolsters your original satement "Not a good idea to leave afterburner on while gaming" since AB is nessisary for Vcore bumps...

Vcore unlocks are not effected by the profile...they are permenant...
