I have a Dell desktop Inspiron 531 with:
1. Originally configured for Vista, upgraded to Windows 7 Home premium.
2. AMD 64x2 Dual core 4000+
3. 1 GB RAM (Might have 2 Gigs)
4. Kingston 120Gbit SSD (C:)
5. 250Gbits hard drive

My problem started after I created an image using EaseUS Partition Master 10.1. Image
was copied to the Internal Hard Drive. I have done this before with no problem.
Now when I start Win 7 on the SSD Disk 1 (C:) it loads ok. I write my password and
loads some more. Next, the screen turn dark and at the lower right hand corner it says
"this copy of Windows is not Genuine". Nothing works. Mouse and keyboard are disabled.
Also, my copy of Windows 7 is legal.

BTW, when I load and run the Image Disk 2 (F:), it works fine

I have a few ideas as to what to do but would like some input from you guys.

1. Unplug Disk 2

2. Insert Win 7 DVD and do a repair. Will it work ?

3. Not sure if I can run in safe mode, but if I can, maybe see if I can do a system

restore. If I open Command Prompt, What can do from there ?

4. Since Win 7 on Disk 2 is running, if I open Win Explorer, I can see all the files on

C: and F: Is there anything I can copy/delete on disk 1 ?

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your replies

If you created the image using a hdd and now dumped the image to an SSD with different size, you may cause problems there. Was it really a full image, filesystem and all?

Sorry. It was a partition copy not a full image. The action was "copy partition from C: (the SSD) to an unallocated 100Gbit area on disk 2 (the hard drive)'

a hardware change will do tha. when it redetected and load drivers, the drivers probably got messed up. use a PS/2 mouse-keyboard and reactivate it.

Help me out. I can't enter into windows 7. It stops after I enter password.
How do I get to the point to reactivate. ?

id try formatting the ssd and doing an image of the drive onto it, not just a partition copy.

why? it wouldn't even take a half hour to format, then use an image tool to copy the old image and put it on the ssd... good luck

I've created a backup of many systems and encountered the not genuine message a lot on restore.
I have never encountered a situation where I dont have keyboard or mouse control unless there has been hardware failure, a bad connection, strange BIOS/compatibility issues or forgot to plug something in.

If you are using PS2 peripherals, make sure support for legacy hardware is enabled in the BIOS.

Failing that, it looks like something went wrong during the backup or the restore.
