affordable backup software

not sure if this is the correct place but, well i'm looking for a very affordable backup software. I'll be using it with win server 2003. I'll actually be created the backup image on the same server i'm backing up and to an external drive. I would like the following options from this software. Well I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I'm on a workgroup environment without a domain. I tried to use cobian backup but it didn't work because of this.

*email notifications of failed jobs/corrupt files
*delete old jobs after x amount of days or when it reaches a certain size. Something along the line of being able to keep two consecutive full backups.
*server/client backups.
*fast
*able to restore only one file at a time.
 
In the rather likely event that you have either a WD or Seagate hard drive somewhere in your system, you can get the free version of Acronis True Image. Even the paid version is only $40. I don't know if the free version will do all that you want it to.

While Windows Server 2003 isn't listed in the OSes that Acronis True Image 2012 supports, this page seems to imply that it does (but I'd rather hear it confirmed from someone who knows):

well i used acronis before but the only option i saw was to create entire disk images and it didn't have the option to restore only 1 file if I needed to.

I believe there is a way to do this as you can actually see the file system from the backup but I've not actually tried it yet, there are some files that I wanted to restore from an image but I've not gotten around to it yet, using Acronis TrueImage Home 2012. I'll post back here when I get to it some time this week I hope if you're still looking into it.
 
Two ways to get at a single file, both very easy.

Double-click on the image file on a system with True Image installed and you can browse the disk image. I found that this was okay for a few smaller files, but for copying large directories, the copy speed was horrendously slow.

Use the Mount wizard within the Acronis app by going to Tools & Utilities and Mount Image to mount the image at its own drive letter. This worked at full speed for me.
