Planning on upgrading to a full tower case? The crew at Vortez didn't seem too thrilled with the Aerocool Strike-X ST. Head on over and read the full report. Here's a clip to get you started:

Strike-X ST is a full tower gaming chassis. Dubbed the “ultimate gaming tower” Aerocool have designed Strike-X ST to have full support for XL-ATX and have enough space to accommodate high-end components. On paper Strike-X ST has all the features but how will it compare against other full towers currently on the market?

This review is rather pathetic to be honest. They hardly delved into any real issues past the USB 3.0 front headers and they thought the case felt cheap for the price while skipping over all the features that make this case worth looking at. In fact, they missed it's greatest flaw, that the 140mm fan spacing is incorrectly drilled. Worse, they compared its price to cases that are much smaller such as the HAF-X and Switch 810. The Strike-X is a Super-Tower, but they compared it to full-tower cases.

I personally own one of the Strike-X ST cases and though it's not perfect, it's been quite good and has some very good built in features, like the fan control headers and fan control knobs on the front panel.

If you're interested in using this case, especially for watercooling, I posted my experience here:

I agree, the review missed several key points. However, it should be pointed out that this case is pretty much identical to the:
Enermax Fulmo GT
Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra
And to a lesser extent the Xigmatek Elysium

All these cases seem to be based off the same basic design, and all are really meant for extreme water cooling rigs. Any less, and you're wasting the potential of the case.

BUT...the comparison to the Switch 810 is valid, as the Switch fills pretty much the same roll, and offers the same flexibility with regards to water cooling. The switch isn't quite as big, however I'd reckon the majority of users waste most of the extra space in the above mentioned cases anyways, so something like the Switch might actually be a better option.
