I bought a 3.2E (retail 3 yr wrnty/w/fan/htsnk) and a ABIT IS7 for $250 brand new unopened boxes from a friend. I don't overclock and only have a 9600XT (only play 1 game LinksLS2003). Will I be ok with stock fan/htsnk and thermal tape? Or should I scrap tape off and put a layer of ASIII? I will have good airflow in my case also! Only will have a 1-DVD burner/1-120 gig HD
Thanks for helping!

Scrape it off!!!

The evil people at Intel have spent millions of dollars designing the "cooling solution" for their retail boxed CPUs to, through a combination of poor cooling & chemical reactions, to burn out CPUs within 3mo of the expiration of that 3yr warranty. Moreso, the fan on the stock HSF can detect if you're using an Intel-based motherboard and actually -fry- your northbridge.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.
