So i've spent the last few days researching video cards, and decided that the Asus 9800XT would be best for me. I want to buy this to replace my Gainward GF3 ti-200, but with the new Nvidia and ATi chipsets coming out soon, I'm struggling with the idea of waiting.

I've been asking people I know for advice on what to do, but I want to hear what you guys have to say about it.

Buy or wait?

hold on to your gf3 for a bit longer, its been good enough so far, and it will be good enough. Youll only enjoy the upgrade more if you wait :)

If you get a 9800XT, your gonna want an ass load of CPU and memory power behind it. Otherwise all you'll gain is the ability to do AA and AF with max game textures. GPU intensive games will benefit, but CPU dependent games will just look better, with pretty much the same frame rate as your Ti200. This was my experience switching from a Ti4600 to 9800Pro.
