Hey, I had a question and was referred here by a friend.

I wanna play a game called APB reloaded: http://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/
and i guess w.e other games may come out now or in the future

but the problem is fps lag is beating my ass and buying/building a new computer right now is not an option.

The current computer I have which i got as a gift... can run games, just not very well

the computer i have is: http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/hp-touchsmart-300-1025/4507-3118_7-33836069.html?tag=specs

and as it says it has this graphics card: http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-3200.9591.0.html

similar hp thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/TouchSmart-PC/hp-touchsmart-300z/td-p/201118

What I want to know is if this computer can be upgraded to run apb or any other games with decent fps, how, and If its even worth it, cause I've been told by some even if I upgrade it, It wont be enough to make the games run any better. But the article on the graphics card says that It can be run in conjunction with another graphics card, but Idk.

any advice that can be given is appreciated. thanks

Probably not...the all-in-one make that difficult, but it might not be impossible. You would need to get an MXM module which is a type of mobile graphics card. Your motherboard does have an expansion slot free for one, but they might be really hard to find.

Product specs on the TouchSmart 300-1025:

Here are the specs specifically on your motherboard:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...25524&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4007378#N206

i see, so the only way really would be if i got an mxm module. but you said its hard to find =/
what exactly should i be looking for if i try to find it. And price-wise would it be worth it to even look at all?

and say i do find it, would it significantly change anything, or would the benefits be slight to minimal

thanks

The best answer I think is that all-in-ones (where the computer is essentially built into the monitor) are not good gaming computers. It is true that if you were to get an MXM module, you might get a moderate increase in your gaming performance. In the end, I don't think it would be worth it.

Here is a thread to give you an idea of price and stores. I have never dealt with any of these stores, so be very careful. I am also not even sure this one is compatible with your computer.
