Would take a heavy look at the power supply, 460w and probably not exactly reputable probably means you'd want to get it replaced. Depending on your monitor size/resolution, the 260 is still pretty good but there are better cards out there now. All in all the price isn't too bad, I have no idea on HP's quality in terms of wiring, cooling, or their support though.

The 460w PSU is plenty for the factory config. It would only be an issue if I wanted to add a second card or upgrade to a better video card.

I would imagine for $1,100 this would last me 2 years of mainstream gaming. I have a $2,500 Velocity Micro, but it has been terrible.
 
Mostly more addressing the *quality* of the psu and not the size, although I would prefer slightly more size too. 460W is probably fine most of the time but PSU's run most efficiently when they are around 50% load. I'd be more concerned about the brand and quality though since crappy PSUs cause more issues and kill more systems than just about any computer component. It seems you are pretty set anyway though in your choice.

Didn't you make a post in another thread though that Velocity Micro was the way to go for pre-builts? Just kinda weird that you say it has been terrible now.

I am not set yet. I did say VM was great until I started having issues again last night after my machine was repaired. They do not seem to give a crap. I will look into the brand of PSU in that machine.
 
That's interesting, I wouldn't have guessed Delta. They don't make that many consumer level PSUs from what I remember, the Antec Signature line being one of them if I recall. They are in general actually really good though. I don't know the specific model, but I'd say there is a fairly good chance it is actually fine though.

I ordered the machine. I am an IT Manager for a large company that buys all HP equipment. If their home computers are as good as their business computers then I will be in good shape.

My Velocity Micro has blown a PSU, Hard Drive, Two Optical Drives, and had a number of other case related quality issues (in about 20 months). I spent $2,500 on it and they have been helpful until recently.

I have tossed in my towel and plan to sell the Velocity Micro with all the new parts in it.

Thanks for the feedback. I welcome anymore on the HP machine. I still can return it free of charge for 21 days.
