I would like to pick up a wireless mouse to replace my corded one. I am deciding between these two:

Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer:

and

Microsoft wireless optical mouse:

don't really know the difference between the two. I play alot of FPS games and would like to know which of these are better.

I would like the Logitech MX700 but its wayyyyyyy to expensive. Any opinions would be much appreciated, thanking you in advance.

I have the MX700 and love it. You know if you get it online you can get it a lot cheaper than most stores you walk into. I have seen it down to $49.99. That is a lot better than the $69 that most stores have it at.

On them 2 you list I have never used them so really can not give a honest opinion.

i know exactly what your saying. whne i was thinking of getting a new mouse i thought the MX700 was too expensive. i GUARANTEE that it is well worth the money! i can't tell you enough. the first time i moved it, i knew i had made a WISE purchase. unless there is a mouse that is 10x better than the MX700 i will not change for a long time. you can get it for $42 on PriceWatch in the screen at the top type in MX700 and scoll down till you see the boxe that says logitech and there is your mouse. i promise promise promise you will not be disapointed, and you will be proud of yourself for spending the extra cash!!!!!!!!!!!

well, which one has more buttons?

i have a wired intellimouse explorer, and absolutely love it for gaming.

Personally, I prefer the MS Intellimouse explorer much more than the logitech. I have the wireless one you linked...3 of them actually. I dualbox for gaming (mmorpg's) and love them. You've got your left and right mouse buttons, a wheel button, and two buttons on the left side. All are fully customizable, and you can map them to do different things in different applications (I believe this was the same on the corded one as well...I had it before switching to wireless also). I love the feel of this mouse, it's so comfortable.

I really dislike the new MS mice - sideways scroll and no detents for vertical scroll. Feels like crap.

Looks like the explorer still has the old scroll wheel. Of the two, get the explorer.

BB <-- still happy with his logitech cordless trackman marble

I should've added about that...the new ms mice aren't as good, but the explorer pictured there is the one I've got now as well. The older ones are much, much better. I've used three of them, one at home and one at my office, as well as one on my second computer for gaming, daily for well over a year. I'm not sure when I actually purchased them, but it was a long time ago, when they were first out. I've yet to have problems with any of them. The batteries last me a while if I'm not gaming, for gaming I can go through some in a week or two...it's not too bad though, I use regular energizer or duracell.
