I was thinking of going with a i7 and 1366 socket but I need to shave a few dollars.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming mostly and general use like college stuff ie viso, virtual pc +win server

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Id like to stay around $1500
3) Where do you live?
Michigan
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
Im buying parts for complete build.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I will not be reusing any parts.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
SyncMaster 220wm
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I plan on ordering the parts within the week.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Looking for sli and CF support, and Sata 6gb support for future upgrades.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
I am ordering win7 pro 64-bit

Any feed back is appreciated!

Can't give you more specific help without those questions but I can see some changes coming:

- Go with the XFX HD 5870 if you're gonna get a HD 5870 since you'll get a lifetime warranty and slightly better customer support from XFX

- Are you planning on using those WD5000AAKS drives in RAID 0 or something?

If you're not overclocking, and even then, that DDR3 2000 RAM is completely worthless. Drop down to a DDR3 1600 RAM set and save some money:
$165 - G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM

Thanks Danny thats the kind of info im looking for. One thing i am worried about is if my choice of power supply is good and would it still be good if i was to add another video card for CF?

It's a good PSU and it will be enough for HD 5850 Crossfire.

Sorry to threadcrap a rainbow on OPs thread, but the regulars in this sub-forum are so damned helpful. Thanks!
