Advice on sudden memory issue needed

Yesterday or the day before my installation of W7 - a brand new format as of two weeks ago - started behaving uncharacteristically sluggishly when running processes or even using explorer to move/browse files, locking up for periods of about 10 seconds quite frequently.

I just noticed this:

I'm supposed to have 2x2GB sticks installed, so I'm not sure what this signifies since it doesn't look like one module's died on me.

I can only speculate and tear my hair out in the meantime, if anyone that actually knows what they're doing could lend a hand it'd be great.
 
Looks like you installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7.

Gotta reinstall with the 64-bit if you want to take advantage of 4GB+ of RAM :(
