Currently I have one 512MB stick of PC 2700 DDR 333 RAM that overclocks pretty well (hits about 240 FSB without cooling).
I want to add some more RAM and I was going to get two 1GB sticks of PC 3200 DDR 400, but then I found out that 1GB sticks "normally dont OC worth crap" :p

So, are there any good 1GB overclockers, or should I just add another three 512MB sticks?

BTW I'm not a noob at this sort of thing, I just dont know much about picking good RAM (Brands, timeing, etc) :D

crucial ballisix.. the 1gb sticks oc quite well.. and it's rated for 250mhz.. just be prepared to pay a lot for it.

personally, i'm trying to figure out how well the crucial value does. if it's anything like the rest of the micron chips, it should be a lot of fun
 
LOL, its so expensive because its PC4000 / DDR 500! :p
I'm guessing that means that the only way to get a good 1GB stick of RAM to overclock well is to get one rated for the speed your overclocking to? :p
 
BTW, I cant find ANY place in my bios to bump my ram voltage (Processor voltage is there) So how do I overclock RAM that needs voltage for overclocking??? :p
 
can't help you find the voltage on your board if i don't know what bios it is :p

though, it should be by the rest of the voltages. just look at things and try to find somehting that goes to 2.5 to 2.8v or something. can't be too hard ;)

I just got mine on Friday and have it at 250 3-4-4-8 1:1 with my Winchester.
Pretty damn fast and stable ram.
But they are rated at 2.8V and my mobo only delivers 2.85V so i have no room for OC.
Oh well.
 
Man, for that price the T-Shirt better be stitched with silver and be guaranteed to never fade. :D

Here's all I could find by looking in the bios for teh verson:

Under my "CPU Configuration" menu is where all teh RAM settings are (I think), Here's what I have in there for RAM:

Memory Clock -------- Auto
Flexibility Options --- Disabled
Bank Interleaving ----- Auto
Bust Strength --------- 4 Beats
CAS Letancy (CL) --- Auto
TRCD --------------------- Auto
TRAS --------------------- Auto
TRP ----------------------- Auto
MA Timing -------------- 2T

Not sure if that helps though :D
 
VCore (Called "Processor Voltage" on this board) is on the "CPU Configuration" tab along with all the RAM settings.
That is the ONLY adjustable voltage on this board as far as I can see (No RAM voltage, or vAGP).
Is there a hidden menu or something, I've heard of that neing done befor :confused:

EDIT: According to ASRock's change log I've got a pretty old verson of the BIOS :eek: I have v1.2, the latest is v1.8!

Think updateing would give me the voltage settings I'm looking for? I dont see them as one of teh things on the change log :confused:
 
After reading around, I think this board is locked at 2.6v for memory :eek: but I cant be sure :confused: IIs there a way to check for sure?

Another odd thing is, this board does not "officaly" support AGP/PCI lock, yet when I have the fsb up to 250MHz my cards dont have any problems :eek:
