Advice on extending wireless range

I currently have the wireless D-Link gaming router. My 2 gaming PCs are wired to it. My 2 laptops use the wireless. The problem is the configuration of my house doesn't allow for very good wireless range. What are my options to extend the range? No doubt I need more hardware but what should I look for? I appreciate any advice you may have.

You can try repositioning the wireless router...if that doesn't work then look into getting further range antennas for the router. No guarantees this will work in your favor though.

I've repositioned the router as well as can be done given the location of the wired PCs to the router and the layout of the house. Range extending antennas might help but I thik the layout of the house (walls/floors) is really afecting the range the most.
