Advice on Blu Ray playback?

I have two machines that I am running and have been wondering for awhile now if it would be feasible to run blu ray through them... both systems are running on a monitor and also connected to tvs...i am thinking of getting an internal blu ray drive (preferably with dvd/cd writer capability) and mount that to an enclosure (vantec dx) and run them back and forth between the systems if they're capable of doing so... do i need to upgrade parts, let me know thanks! :)

system 1
phenom x3 710 2.6ghz
4gb ram
ati 4830 (running hdmi to tv)
bfg 550 psu
asus cm motherboard *forgot the model*


system 2
sg05 w/ stock 300w psu
intel dual core 3.2ghz
4gb ram
zotac h55 motherboard
*no graphics card installed... planning on xfx 5450 / 5670 are either of these decent enough for playback...

i think system 2 might be a reach haha but would there be anyway for it to make it work out ... i would think i get away with installing the gpu and im good but im not sure haha
i think the first one would probably be plug and play

System 1 will do it. The Radeon HD 4830 video card has the UVD 2 video engine and supports dual video stream decoding. Therefore, 1080P playback should be smooth.
 
any recommendations on blu ray drives?

im thinking of the LG UH10LS20 i think its running under 80 bucks so not bad considering it will burn dvds/cds and has decent read speed for Blu ray
 
Honestly it might be cheaper and easier to just buy a blu-ray player. After you buy the software and pc drive it is usually more than standalone player. You'll get less headaches also with a standalone player and it would be just as easy to move as a pc blu-ray drive in an external enclosure.
 
haha im kind of tired of lugging my phat ps3 around anyways lol

but actually i was thinking of archiving my blu rays at one point (used blu rays if you look around are pretty affordable haha) ... i dont mind it being in an enclosure purely because i jump from one comp to the other i dont really have a set machine i go between the two and my laptop
