Advice on a 939 mobo

hey there, so my MSI K8NGM2-FID mobo died, now i dont know if i should buy another socket 939 mobo on ebay or something. Or just cut my loses and buy a whole new setup. Any advice is greatly appreciated,

You can get an AM2+ system for relatively cheap these days, less than investing in more dead technology. Thats the route I would go.
 
thanks, thats what i figured but its hard to part with the cpu and mem. guess i can put them up on ebay. thanks again

thx hossdaddy, that looks good i check it out.. As for what i would use it for i am still thinking of that. I already built a new intel system for htpc , this build would replace an old anthlon xp thats still going strong, that i use for graphic work. Orignially the 939 was my htpc but replaced by the intel, so what your listed is really all i would need, since i have a spare powersupply thats 430. which should be able to handle that. thanks for your time

i actually have two AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.0GHz and AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Toledo 2.2GHz
 
You may be able to find a board here on the forums for cheap. If not, sell those CPUs on the FS/T forums if you want to avoid ebay fees.
 
nope, not at all.. the 4200+ is still hooked up to the dead mobo with a heatsink ( AC Freezer 64 Pro),the other processor is in the pastic case it comes in.
 
939 motherboards should be cheap, it's the DDR and dual core CPUs that are expensive.

so you could either sell the DDR and CPU on Ebay, or get a cheap used 939 board. I certainly wouldn't junk the ram and CPUs or let them sit around.
 
no wasnt gonna junk the cpu or ram was going to try to sell them and junk the mobo..which i am gonna do, i just fond my camera so i can shoot some picts if going the ebay route. thanks Varmint

That's what I am doing - selling my DDR and Opteron on Ebay and getting a Socket 775 setup.
