i will be buying my first Lian-Li case soon a pc-7b it's nice and it suites my needs but after a bunch of looking around into different places i found that the pc-60b has the same size specs and a side panel i really like. So my question is are the side panels from the pc-6x series and pc-7x series compatible?

If you can't find one that fits, call them and they will test a few for you if you're serious about buying.
 
The sides are interchangeable, I can vouch for this since I worked with both at the same time recently. Can't go wrong with either cases, the PC-7B was my first Lian Li case too.
