This is ridiculous....

Ive been trying to put together a dedication video for my grandmothers 90th birthday, and EXTREMELY basic functions, Moving a series of clips around via the sceneline or timeline, takes forever despite everything being on my ssd. The application just crashed on me when im trying to replay everything..... NO application, especially one that is based on an application that people make their livelihoods on should be this unoptimized and unstable. It doesnt use my processor to its fullest extent, nor my ram, and despite that moving clips around makes the application appear to be running on a pentium 3.

Any suggestions for alternatives? Generally speaking I just like to do slideshows and if i decide to get fancy, pathing is always nice..... I did have a bit of FCP and Adobe Premiere experience, but i dont even use any of those features....
 
Could also try Pinnacle Studio. I think it is probably less featured than Premiere Elements, but good enough for your use too.
