When trying to gain a stable overclock on a CPU, should I loosen timings? And if so, by how much?

Do I need to change anything else along side the RAM? And by how much?

Thanks,
_Luca

Gonna need more platform info, like board / cpu / cooling etc.

That being said, looser ram timings in exchange for higher clocks generally are a worthwhile sacrifice.

Its all in my sig, but all good:

Asus p6t mono
1600mhz g.skill sniper ram
Xeon x5670 aiming for 4.2
Corsair h60

Our boards are a little different but not by much.....i have never adjusted the timings in the ram section aside from switching between cas 1 or 2 since it defaults to 2 but 1 runs fine and gives a little boost....also worth noting if running 191*22 your ram will be slightly down clocked anyway
Not sure how your overclocking but the xmp mode seems to auto set all the ram timing pretty good...now if you were trying to overclock the ram (which i think you should get your system stable first) i suppose loosening the timings Would be needed....even though i believe over clocking the ram isn't needed....not even sure if it helps performance much, if at all:eek:
