Ok, me and a friend have been trying desperately to connect our two laptops together using wireless NIC's and ad-hoc mode.
We both have Dell Inspiron 600m's with the Intel Pro/2100 Wireless NIC. I have XP Pro, and he is using XP Home.
Basically, we cant get anything to work. We both assign ourselfs an IP (192.168.2.1, 192.168.2.2) and use the same subnet mask (255.255.255.0). Also, in the Intel Proset utility, we both create a profile with the same name and the same SSID and select ad-hoc mode.
Once we do this, we should be able to see each oter, right?
Well, its not working. We are unable to ping each other or access each others network shares.
Can a wireless guru offer us some advice?
