Additional Internal HardDrive ?

I have an additional internal harddrive that i would like to install into my computer, but i have a problem. Take a look on this picture that i took today:

As you can see my harddrive appearantly needs two things plugged into it. One of them i have, the weird 4 cable colorful thingie :D But what about the blue cable that comes from my motherboard? what is that? Do i need to plug that into the second harddrive?
 
SATA cable or whatever (if i'm correct) picture isn't that good

and yes you need it, just post on the FS/T and usually you can score free ones like i did :) or just pay the shipping costs, ppl are that nice ;)
 
The Blue cable is an SATA cable. The 4 wire cable provides power. You will need an additional SATA cable and yes you will need to plug it into the new drive and the motherboard. I can't tell if you have an available SATA port. (?) Is your new drive an SATA drive?
 
The new harddrive (which is actually quite old, it comes from my old PC) is not likely to be SATA. It has the normal power cable connected to it, and then there is one of the grey wide things connected to it like the ones u can see on my picture that go to the DVD and CD ROM's.

ATA100 cable for HDs and ATA133 for CD/DVD ROM (unless i'm confused again):) so many cables but you prob have it already

so yeah you're good to go
 
so i can just plug the same cable that goes into my CD ROM and DVD ROM to that harddrive and it should work? That would be pretty good news :) Ill try it...

if it fits, its meant for it ;) lol jk, but i think so. wait for another response.

also, try to plug it into a separate cable from your CD/DVD ROM (not sure if you have a dual cable so just saying)
