Title says it all, do I need to flush my system before adding or can i drain some of it so no coolant comes out? I don't have enuf coolant to re add if i do flush.

well for starters there is really no such thing as non conductive but I don't want to open that can of worms again...

5% to 10% pentosin (or some other anticorosion fluid) and distilled water (get it at the grocery store) is all you really need. I bought some Fluid XP+ Extreme and have been using it to water house plants.

LOL.

When you get the chance, always flush your loop. There's almost always a build up of some sort and its a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Flush it with boiling distilled water once or twice and you'll be good to go.

Take out the pieces before you use boiling water :p

I've had acrylic reservoirs sag and crack when filled

You're scaring me. My DD bay res is one of the few things I regret purchasing. Everytime I do anything remotely attached to it, I pray it doesn't crack.

Eeh... Sorry to scare you, but if you value your stuff, I'd get it out of the loop ASAP...

I had my very first one crack on me during normal use (too much pressure on a barb using the thick-walled Tygon tubing) and had it returned for an RMA. Needless to say, I didn't re-use it...

It's still sitting in it's box, and I've yet to use another reservoir since.

Even my TDX cracked on me 2 days ago! I had to purchase a Dtek Fuzion (thank god!!! I got a 10c temp drop!)

I had a typhoon 120mm reservoir crack on me when I filled it with boiling water... The one I was given through an RMA is now going in my girlfriend's computer as a "simulated fish tank" (I filled it with plastic beads and heavy mineral oil, and sealed the entire thing with goop. She loves it :p)

It's one of the few things I have in my case for the Bling instead of functionality. I have 3 different reservoirs in my system and by far this one has me worried every time I touch it. I'm doing a drain/refill and loop modification to it as well. I just purchased two RD-30's (found them for only $200 a pop). So I'll be replacing the pump on my CPU loop as well as my GTX loop. Hopefully I won't torque it too much. I'll probably reseal it with some silicone sealant just in case.

Awesome results! It's just really amazing to see how the FuZion and the GTX really separate themselves from all other blocks out there consistently.

Any problems with those swiftec microres, I have one right over top of my Bios chip right now... :(

Don't tell me that Micro res are bad... I just ordered one today :(

They're the best of the acrylic res's by far.

I'm just scarred for life now :) Don't mind old, jaded me.

Just be careful! Don't overtighten them. Don't let them touch alcohol. Don't boil them. Etc.

What will happed if you let alcohol come in contact with acrylic? :p

Depends on the concentration. 70% and lower will haze it if rubbed off fairly fast.

71% and above start to dissolve away the plasticizers in it. 99% and denatured alcohol will literally seep into the plastic molecular mesh, break it apart, and crack the piece (provided you give it some time).

Not ALL plastics are affected by this (lexan, generally isn't) but most will shatter if pressure is placed on a piece with an alcohol-related stress.

thermaltake coolant? are you using any thermaltake blocks? i recall some tt using aluminum, so if you switch out the coolant, be careful what you put in or else you may very well end up with galvanic corrosion quickly

well got her installed, MCW60 Swiftech VGA block on my 8800gts, brought the temps down to 39 celsius idle. Not too shabby.
