Adding USB To Your CloudBook

Good start on the Cloudbook modding. I'm curious to see how far it will go.

hope he'll take into account power requirements for it. Most laptops have 65 watt power blocks (larger ones have 90 watts). I'm not sure what wattage UMPC blocks are at. Would it be able to handle 4 USB devices without fail?

I know that the EEE PC is at something like 22W and I think it can handle more than 4.

Uh, oh! Steve's frequenting Mac sites. Does this mean he is going to get a Mac?

Not if they're high drain. There was something in the laptop forum recently about a 2 plug external hard drive being used as a source for video playback draining the battery of a plugged in EEE.

Max current draw is .5A, which at 5V is 2.5W. If the 4 ports are acheived by means of an unpowered hub, then the total max draw is 2.5W. If each is individually connected (unlikely) then max draw is 10W.

2.5W isn't particularly significant.
