Adding more ethernet ports to a router

Is there a more convenient way to expand the number of wired ports one has on a wired network?

I know that a quick solution is to wire two routers together and disable the DCHP on the second, but would doing something like wiring a 4 or 5 port ethernet hub to the router work as well?

Using a network switch is a pretty standard use to combat this problem. I wouldn't buy a hub though.

Don't buy a hub.. do they even make those anymore? A cheap 5 port switch will work fine. I just bought a 5 port Trendnet Gigabit switch for $35.

Sorry, I had a slip of the tongue there. I realize that hub's are horrible.

I meant switch.

Just bought a 5-port one from newegg for $5 after rebate.

Gotta love newegg.
