Adding Drives to a Raid5 Array?

I am new to using Raid 5. I have a HP DL380 G5 server with hardware raid 5 and 3x sata 640gb drives. With the current setup and the information on it is it possible to add more drives to the pool to speed it up / add more space without killing the info on it?

Which hardware raid card do you installed in the dl380, and is there just one? Is it an HP or an aftermarket? ISome models come with a P400 in slot 1 for example. How many of the 8 SFF drives are currently installed in the server? Are all the drives that are installed currently assigned to a single RAID array? Generally, if it is the HP adapter you will go into the ACU (Array configuration Utility) to expand the raidset and then diskpart to expand your volumeset (or create an additional volume).
 
Yes it is the P400 with 256MB RAM. I have 3 out of the 8 slots filled.
 
Then go to smartstart or right to the ACU. 3 is the minimum for R5, so you will obviously need more drives before you can expand it. Also, R5 requires that each drive in the array are the same size (ie you can mix 73 and 146GB drives in the same raidset). If you insert a larger drive in the same set, it will only use the size of the smallest disk in the raidset (so if you have 3 146GB drives, and add a 300 it will only use 146 of the 300.
