adding another resolution to my lappy?

Helloooo!
I have a HP Pavillion dv4000 1GB Ram, 15.4" widescreen, with an Intel Mobile 915GM/GMS and a Pentium M 1.6Ghz. The desktop runs at 1280x800, But unfortunately with this intel integrated graphics, i can't play some games at the native resolution. I did some math and i think the resolution i want to try is 800x500. The game in question is Lineage 2, and i don't know how to add a resolution, and im guessing its harder than with my 6800gt on my desktop. Can anyone out there help me? I dont wanna run it at 800x600 and stretch it. Thats poopy.

Might be silly advice (if you've already checked), but isn't there an option in your graphics driver to not stretch non-native resolutions? I know a friend runs games on his widescreen laptop in 4:3 resolutions, when they don't have native support for widescreen.
 
yes, i know how to do that. i just want to use a 16:10 resolution thats smaller than 1280x800
