adding another drive and making it os drive?

Hey guys, right now I have an 80gb IDE drive that has my OS and music, games etc. on it. I just ordered another, faster 80gb drive and I plan to make that the OS disk. Whats the best way to make the new disk on the new drive the OS disk, while inactivating the OS on the old drive while still retaining the music files? can I somehow designate the new disk as the OS disk and once its running delete the system files from the old disk?
 
Visit the Support site for the manufacturer of your drive. You'll find:
- A DOS utility program to clone your old boot drive to the new drive.
- Procedural instructions on cloning the old drive to the new drive and making it bootable.

Just print out and follow the instructions.

Format the old drive and copy the music files to it.

How are those cloners? do they work usually or are there problems with doing that?
 
I've used utilities by both Maxtor and Western Digital to clone multi-partition boot drives.

Both performed flawlessly.
