Adding additional storage to a Thinkpad T530

So I have a Thinkpad T530 that I often use for demoing some software configurations to clients using virtual machines that is in need of a bit more on-board storage for running virtual machines. It has an optical drive (DVD burner) that I haven't really used in months, and a 512G SSD drive. I'd prefer to stick with all SSD storage since the system gets moved around a lot.

Can I swap out the optical drive with another SSD? If so, what do I need to do that? I assume there is some mounting kit that I need and of course I'll need a compatible SSD that will fit in that form factor. Whats the largest SSD one could get in that form factor for about $700 or so?

Thanks!

Some require a mounting kit. More info might be on lenovos site, but id hesitate buying anything directly

You could also look into an MSATA SSD on that model. The optical drive enclosure can usually be found for around $50.

Unfortunately I don't. Only with Macbook optical bay adapters. I wish I could help more!
