I need to add a USB port to a piece of flat plastic on the front bezel of my computer. What is the cleanest way to do this. I am thiking that after I cut my hole, there is another bezel or faceplate that could go over the rough cut hole and make it look clean...

Anyone seen a product?

scroll saw and a file Scroll saw will do the rough cut and a file to smooth things out.

I've done mine with a drill and a set of $4 needle files[1] using a USB PCI slot bracket as a template.
- remove USB port from bracket
- tape bracket where you want it to be
- mark screw holes, mark outline of port
- remove bracket, drill[2] screw holes and a couple holes inside the marked port area
- bolt bracket in place using the screw holes
- using the needle files, start filing in the drilled holes until you hit the bracket.
- unbolt bracket, screw in USB ports

[1]Harbor Freight Tools
[2]1/8" bit works good

Widefault, can you give a link to the "bracket" part, I'm not visualizing it.

(yes its my host :p)

Yep, that's what I used. Take the actual ports off and it makes a great template for drilling and filing.

I'm not to excited on working on the finish of the case myself. I'd like to have some kind of bezel that I could put down to cover up my toolmarks.

Maybe a pice of plastic, carbon fiber, or a thick sticker... I'll take reccomendations for small cheap USB devices that I caould canibalize...
